Zendaya will be named the 2021 Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards’ fashion icon next month, adding another major award to her trophy collection.
“@Zendaya’s meteoric rise to Fashion Icon superstardom occurred at breakneck speed. “She has repeatedly demonstrated her willingness to take risks, from betting on newer talents like Peter Do to collaborating with established houses like Valentino and, as was the case at last night’s London premiere of Dune, Rick Owens,” the CFDA said in a statement, adding that she has “given fans and fashion followers worldwide a seemingly endless number of glamorous red carpet looks to remember.”
Zendaya’s latest award puts her in excellent company, as she joins Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Pharrell, Jennifer Lopez, and Naomi Campbell as previous winners.
On Tuesday, the CFDA revealed the winner of their newest award, Face of the Year, to Anya Taylor-Joy, star of Queen’s Gambit.
The 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards will be placed on November 10 at the Seagram Building in New York City.
