Zendaya has revealed that she will be skipping this year’s Met Gala, which is just days away.
The forthcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actor has a reputation for being one of the Met’s best-dressed visitors, sporting outfits like a Versace Joan of Arc-inspired gown from 2018 and a Tommy Hilfiger lighted Cinderella gown from 2019.
She will, however, be absent this year.
I’m talking to “I will regrettably not be able to attend [the Met Gala] since I will be working for Euphoria,” the 25-year-old fashion sensation and actress revealed in an interview with “Extra” from the Venice Film Festival. I took some time off work to come to Venice and participate in this incredible event.”
“I wish I could, especially since this fashion legend [Timothée Chalamet] is going to be presenting,” Zendaya said, adding that her “fans are going to be extremely disappointed with me” because she would not be attending.
Chalamet, tennis player Naomi Osaka, musician Billie Eilish, and inaugural poet Amanda Gorman will serve as co-chairs of the Met Gala on Monday night.
The event in 2021 will also mark the 75th anniversary of the Costume Institute.
