Serena Williams Has Pulled Out Of The US Open

Serena Williams has withdrawn from this year’s US Open, another setback in her bid to capture her first Grand Slam championship since giving birth to her daughter.

Williams, who turns 40 next month, revealed on social media that she will be unable to compete in Flushing Meadows in New York due to a damaged hamstring.

Williams said on Instagram, “After careful thought and following the advice of my physicians and medical team, I have chosen to withdraw from the US Open to enable my body to fully heal from a torn hamstring.” “New York is one of the most exciting cities in the world, and it’s one of my favorite locations to play; I’ll miss seeing the fans, but I’ll be rooting for everyone from afar.”

According to ESPN, Williams has not competed since hurting her right leg in a first-round match at Wimbledon in June.
