Ford is recalling 774,696 Ford Explorers due to the possibility of rear suspension fractures.
A shattered rear suspension toe link can be caused by a seized cross-axis ball joint.
Vehicles that have been hit may have strange handling or a misplaced back wheel. The loss of steering control caused by a broken rear toe link increases the danger of an accident.
Ford stated on Friday that it is aware of six instances of injuries in North America allegedly connected to the problem.
