Television Actor Has Been Charged With Deadly Shooting In Queens, According To District Attorney’s Office

NEW YORK — In the deadly shooting of a New York man in February, a television actor has been charged with murder.

In the killing of Tyrone Jones, 37, of Queens Village, a grand jury indicted Isaiah Stokes, 41, on counts of second-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

His defense counsel was contacted and asked for comment on the accusations. Stokes has been in shows such as “Law & Order,” “Power,” and “Boardwalk Empire,” among others.

The shooting occurred on February 7th in the afternoon. Surveillance footage shows Stokes exiting a car between the Linden Boulevard and 200th Street junction and then shooting 11 bullets into a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to authorities.

In a statement, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz stated, “Gun violence is all too frequent in our communities.” “We will not accept it as the norm.”

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, and if convicted, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life in jail.
