Florida Man Swimming Near A Fishing Line Is Bitten By A Shark

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — Florida man was bitten by a shark while swimming along a fishing line 40 yards from the beach.

According to a press release issued on Facebook by the South Walton Fire District, the guy suffered obvious wounds to his upper torso and chest area and was brought to a local hospital, where he is expected to recover.

According to firefighters, the shark was reportedly headed for the fishing line off Santa Rosa Beach on Thursday and may have confused the guy for bait.

To warn other swimmers in the vicinity, the fire department flew two red flags. The shark is estimated to be between 7 and 8 feet (2 metres) long.
